Blackpool - not your average football tournament
In association with Fleetwood Town Football Club, we’re very proud to announce that the Blackpool International Cup will be played at the state-of-the-art facilities located at Poolfoot Farm.
Heard of Poolfoot Farm? No? For all things football, this is the place to be. Home to the training facilities of Fleetwood Town FC, this sport and leisure complex boasts a range of facilities, in addition to being the home of the League 1 club.
The community complex is an elite environment that fulfils a range of football purposes. Hosting more than 1,000 games of grassroots football each season, it comes as no surprise that Poolfoot is highly regarded as a tournament venue within the UK.
The complex features 2 FIFA 2-star grade 4G pitches (the highest grade possible), 4 specialised 5-a-side pitches and 7 top-class grass pitches, meaning teams have the facilities at their disposal to enjoy an incredible tournament.

Not only is Poolfoot incredibly popular with the teams that enter the tournament, but footballing legend Sir Alex Ferguson is also impressed by the facilities.
When visiting Poolfoot to officially open the venue, he was incredibly surprised with the quality of facilities that had been developed. When asked about the complex, he said:
‘It really is fantastic when you see the magnitude of what’s happening at Fleetwood. The facility has surprised me and it’s absolutely superb. I always admire people with a bit of foresight to plan and prove your set-up.
From what I’ve seen at Fleetwood it seems exactly like that. There’s an incentive for any kid to come here and practice and improve themselves. This facility certainly lends them to do that.’

Sports Tours has run the Blackpool tournament for the last 18 years and it has continued to get bigger and better. Now taking place over three separate weekends, the tournament is expected to attract 450 teams from 12 different countries to Poolfoot Farm.
There’s also so much to explore away from the football pitch! Head for the Pleasure Beach and its exciting rides and attractions, visit one of the three main piers or watch a world-famous show with all the family. Having recently undergone a significant regeneration programme, there’s no better time to visit the town!
