Great Yarmouth Rugby Festival 2026

Held over May-Day weekend, this festival is the largest of it's kind!

This electrifying 2-day competition, open to U7s – U15s, attracts around 100 teams from across the UK – a spectacular showcase of tactics, teamwork, and terrific tries!

The action unfolds at North Walsham RFC – this venue provides a vibrant festival atmosphere, with quality pitches, club catering, local food vendors, marquees, excellent entertainment, and toilet facilities.

What to expect

4PM: Check in to your holiday park and start exploring the fantastic facilities! Take in the lively atmosphere, mingle with fellow guests, and enjoy a delicious dinner on-site or at a nearby restaurant. Grab a drink, relax, and get ready for the fun and festivities!

From 8:30AM: Teams will roll in for registration and set up their team tents. Flags will be flying! Afternoon teams, there’s no need to rush, just make sure you’re registered at least half an hour before your games start!

From 9AM: Let’s the games begin! If you’re in the morning slot, get ready to hit the pitch between 9AM and 1:30PM. Those of you in the afternoon slot, your time to shine is from 2PM to 6PM. When you’re not playing, soak up the electric atmosphere, run some drills, grab some grub, and watch all the action unfold!

After your matches, take some time to relax at the venue, grab a drink, or head back to your accommodation. Or explore Great Yarmouth – there’s plenty of family-friendly attractions!

From 8:30AM: Teams arrive at the venue for registration and prepare for another day of thrilling competition!

From 9AM: Let the competition continue! Same as yesterday  – those with morning slots, you’ll hit the pitch between 9PM to 1:30PM, and those with afternoon slots, your games will take place between 2PM and 6PM. It’s time for teams to battle it out for the titles!

Once you have finished all of your games, celebrate together at the awards ceremony, where medals and trophies will be handed out by a special guest. It’s a moment to cheer, snap some celebratory shots, and reflect on action that’s unfolded, all while surrounded by family and friends.

10AM: All good things must come to an end! It’s time to check out of your accommodation and head home after an unforgettable weekend.

All tournaments are sanctioned by the RFU and played in line with RFU Age Grade Regulations.

Match durations will be maximised dependent on number of teams per age group, in line with the RFU ‘Daily Playing Time’ regulations above.

All players will receive a participation medal and there will be winners and runners up trophies for U12 to U15 teams. Those attending the presentation will be awarded their medals by a special guest rugby player.

Yes please. There is parking onsite with a donation to the host club.

We ask that you bring RFU cards OR a photocopy of a passport for all players involved in the festival. Age checks may be carried at any point during the tournament.

All pitches are played on grass, so it is recommended to wear studded boots, but players are welcome to alternative footwear depending on the ground surface.

Each team will play up to 5 games per day – the duration of the games depends on the number of teams in each age category. However, each team will play up to the maximum number of minutes per day, as stipulated by the RFU.
