How to find Poolfoot Farm

On Arrival at the Tournament

  • On arrival cars will be directed to a designated parking area, either at Poolfoot Farm or Thornton-Cleveleys FC. Wherever you park your car, please hide all valuables out of sight.
  • Those arriving by coaches will be told a dedicated drop off point. The exact location will be communicated to groups prior to the event. Please obtain the mobile number of your driver and call him when you wish to be collected.
  • Disabled parking: We will try to locate those disabled cars nearby to the pitches. To ensure we direct you to the car park nearest to your playing area, anyone wishing to use this facility should make that known to the car park attendant immediately upon arrival.
  • Car parking is free, but spaces are limited and are offered on a first come first served basis.
  • We strongly recommend car sharing.

Arrival by coach

Team Registration 

  • All teams must please register at the Tournament HQ at least 30 minutes prior to your first game.
  • Please make sure you have provided the names and dates of birth of your players on the Sports Tours Hub prior to arrival.
  • Please bring passports or photocopies with you – there may be “spot checks” and if players’ ages are unable to be verified, the player in question may be suspended from playing.

Other important Information

  • Food & drink refreshments will be available to purchase at Poolfoot Farm and Thornton-Cleveleys FC
  • Toilets are available in the complex and additional toilets will be available.
  • Please do not drop litter or leave rubbish – take it home with you or use the bins provided.
  • Limited changing facilities are available in the complex. Please do not leave your belongings in the changing room as they are a shared facility.
  • Tents and Gazebos are recommended but please do not put these up near the emergency access points and playing areas. We recommend bringing portable chairs to the venue. Please take them home with you after the event.
  • BBQs or other cooking equipment are NOT permitted onsite.
  • Poolfoot Farm is now a cashless venue.

Managers Meeting & Presentation Information

Managers Meeting

The Manager’s Meeting will be delivered via a video conference call on Microsoft Teams. It is scheduled for Wednesday 27th March at 6pm and will be recorded for anyone who can’t attend the live meeting. Invitations were sent out 8th March – if you have not recieved an invite, please contact Sports Tours.

 


 

Presentation

Sunday 31st March

After the tournament has finished, the awards presentation will take place onsite at Poolfoot Farm. We’re excited to confirm that former Scotland Captain and Premier League winner, Colin Hendry, will present the awards to players.

Each player will receive a participation award, and the winners and runners up for each age group will receive a trophy.

We’re really excited to confirm that Football Freestyler and TV personality, Dan Magness, will be attending our Easter tournament!

Dan has performed his tricks and skills around the world and to many famous players, including Lionel Messi and Pele! Most impressively, Dan is also a Guinness World Record holder for keeping a ball in the air for 26 hours! Impressive right?!

Dan will be in attendance at the tournament on both Saturday and Sunday to showcase his amazing skills and to meet players!

Match Tickets (Fleetwood v Cheltenham)

Fleetwood Town play Cheltenham Town in League One on Friday 29th March (Good Friday) at Highbury Stadium  Tickets are available for just £5 per person for teams who enter this tournament. Please contact Sports Tours to secure your match tickets.

Key highlights:

General Regulations

  • All games will be played in accordance with the rules set out in the FA Regulations as they apply to each individual age group and format.
  • Within the “spirit of the game”, if a team is unable to field the maximum number of players for any one game, the opposing team should play with the same number of players on the field.
  • Please ask your coaches and parents to assist by being ready for your next match 5 minutes ahead of the scheduled time.
  • Players and supporters required to abide by the FA guidelines in relation to who is permitted onto the pitch.

Referees

  • Referees will be provided for all fixtures.
  • Referees are all qualified and are associated with Lancashire FA

Player Welfare

  • Only players, coaches and authorised persons are allowed in the changing rooms. Teams should arrive ready to play.
  • Tap water is available free of charge from the designated area in the changing rooms and clubhouse. You can purchase drinks & food at the grounds.
  • Emergency first aid will be provided; however, teams are expected to arrange transport to hospital or the medics will call 999 if required.

Has been covering grassroots football across the Fylde Coast for the past 5 years and cover grassroots football from under 7’s right through to Senior football. Through his grassroots photography has raised over £10,000 for local charities, good causes and grassroots football teams.

Please note that both team and action photographs will be taken throughout the tournament and team photographs will be available to purchase on the day. Photographs will also be available on the photographer’s website to purchase.

Photographs may also be used for marketing purposes by Sports Tours Ltd and Poolfoot Farm, which includes local newspapers, brochures, social media and on our websites, sports-tours.co.uk or www.poolfootfarm.co.uk

Any teams/individuals who do not wish to have their photographs taken must make this known to the photographers and Event Manager.

Codes of Conduct

  • Everybody attending the festival is expected to abide by the FA RESPECT Code of Conduct.
  • Please remember that everyone is there to have fun! Celebrate effort and good play from both sides.
  • Always respect the Referee and coaches and encourage players to do the same.
  • Please stay behind the touchline and behind the RESPECT
  • Never engage in, or tolerate, offensive, insulting, or abusive language or behaviour.
  • The organisers reserve the right to ask anyone who is considered to be behaving in an inappropriate way to leave the tournament.
  • Any behaviour falling below the standard expected by the rules and codes of conduct may be reported to the FA
  • Referee and match official abuse will not be tolerated under any circumstances and will result in the individual/team/Club being asked to leave the tournament and will be reported to the FA.

Players

  • Abide by the rules of the tournament and decisions made by the officials and referees.
  • Play fairly and demonstrate good sportsmanship both on and off the pitch.
  • Play by the laws of the game.
  • Do not argue with the referee.

Coaches and Parents

  • Act as a positive role model to all young players.
  • Be familiar with, and abide by, the FA child protection guidance in relation to verbal and emotional abuse.
  • Remember children play sport for their enjoyment.
  • Acknowledge good individual and team performance from all youngsters irrespective of which team they play for.
  • Respect match official’s decisions ‐ Remember, they provide an opportunity for youngsters to play and enjoy rugby.
  • Never verbally abuse players, match officials, fellow spectators, or coaches.
  • Acknowledge effort and good performance rather than the “win at all costs” ethic.
  • Verbally encourage all youngsters in a positive way. If you do want to shout, make sure it is ‘for’, not ‘at’, the players.
  • Condemn bad language, rude behaviour, and violence.

Discipline

All coaches, parents and players must be made aware of the tournament code of conduct and are subject to eviction from the tournament should the code be breached, this will be decided at the discretion of the tournament committee.

Tournament Committee

The management committee will have the power to apply, act upon and enforce the Rules of the Tournament and shall also have jurisdiction over all matters affecting the Tournaments, including any not provided for by the Rules. In the event of a dispute, only the team coach will discuss with the Committee.

  • Where is the tournament venue and what age groups are where?

  • How many games will we play?

    Each team will play up to 7 games per day – the duration of the games depends on the number of teams in each age category. However, each team will play up to the maximum number of minutes per day, as stipulated by The FA.

     

  • When do we play our games?

    The tournament will be split into two sessions:

    • AM (9 – 1:30pm approx) – U7, U9, U11, U13, U15
    • PM (2 – 6:30pm (approx) – U8, U10, U12, U14, U16

    Please arrive 30 minutes before the start of your session.

    Exact fixture times will be released on the week of the tournament.

  • How can we check our fixtures and scores?

    Sports Tours uses an online tournament system called Tournify where you can view fixtures and track results – you can access Tournify via a web page or by downloading the app.

    The fixtures will be published closer to the event.

  • What I.D do we have to bring for the players?

    We ask that you bring Club/League cards OR a photocopy of a passport for all players involved in the tournament. Age checks may be carried at any point during the tournament.

    Please note, for teams who are travelling from a different country (i.e. Scotland), they are required to contact their respective FA (i.e SYFA) to obtain permission to participate in the tournament.

  • Will there be finals?

    There will be no finals – we do this to ensure all teams in your age group play the same number of matches and minutes.

  • Shall we bring both home & away kits?

    To avoid kit clashes, we strongly recommend you bring both your home & away strips.

  • Do we have to bring footballs?

    Yes please – the ‘home’ team for each match will be required to provide the match ball.

  • Do you provide referees?

    Of course – all our referees are qualified.

  • What footwear should players wear?

    Pitches are played on either grass or Astro – please see below for your age group:

    • Astro/4G – U7 – U12
    • Grass – U13 – U16
  • Can we park onsite and how much does it cost?

    FREE Car parking is available onsite at Poolfoot Farm (FY5 4HX) and Thornton Cleveleys (FY5 4JH). However, spaces are limited so we strongly recommend car sharing.

  • Do we have to drive to the venue?

    For teams staying in accommodation, there is also a shuttle bus available at £22 per person for the weekend. Please note, spaces are offered on a first come first served basis.

  • What catering options are there?

    Poolfoot Farm serves a variety of food onsite.

    Poolfoot Farm also has the biggest beer garden on the Fylde Coast, so it is the ideal place to enjoy a cold refreshment in the sun (hopefully!).

    Thornton Cleveleys also has a clubhouse, changing room, social space and snacks available. All teams can use the facilities at either Poolfoot or Thornton Cleveleys.

  • Can we bring our own BBQ?

    We are afraid Poolfoot Farm and Thornton Cleveleys does not allow BBQs onsite.

  • Will alcohol be served?

    Yes – the venue has a licensed bar and there will be some fantastic promotions available, exclusive to this event.

  • Can we bring our own alcohol to the tournament venue?

    Only alcohol that is purchased at Poolfoot Farm/Thornton-Cleveleys can be consumed onsite.

  • Are dogs allowed?

    Yes, Poolfoot Farm & Thornton-Cleveleys is dog friendly, but dogs must be on a lead at all times and are not permitted in the main buildings.

  • Will there be a presentation?

    Yes, presentations will take place on Sunday at Poolfoot Farm once your age group has played all matches.

  • Will players receive medals/trophies?

    All players will receive a participation medal which will be presented by a Celebrity. There will also be trophies for those who come first and second in their league.

  • What happens if a member of my group causes damage to the accommodation or the event site?

    All damages should be reported prior to departure. The cost of any damage or compensation is the joint responsibility of all group members. It is for the service provider / host club / accommodation centre to reasonably determine the value of the damage or compensation. Any costs will be charged to your group and will be payable on demand. Where your group has paid a security deposit directly to the accommodation centre, any issues will be in accordance with their own policy.
