Rugby Festival meets Adventure Weekend in Dorset!
Our annual rugby tournament is back at Swanage and Wareham RC in Wareham, only in 2024 it’s set to be bigger and better than ever before! Welcome to Osmington Bay, one of PGL’s largest activity centres set on the cliff tops of Dorset, and base for the Sports Tours South Dorset Rugby Festival Weekend. The centre offers comfortable accommodation in the newly built accommodation blocks, whilst the rest of the 45-acres offers a host of exhilarating activities from the huge high ropes course with zip wires to a giant swing, abseiling and much more. As well as team entry to the 1-day tournament, accommodation and activities are all included in your weekend package!
Nutritious family-friendly favourite meals are served up in The Dining Room, all of which are included in your package price too!
Your school or club team will be allocated a 1-day tournament slot on either Saturday or Sunday giving them the other full day to make the most of the on-site activities and when you think the day is drawing to a close, the party begins, with evening entertainment including a fancy-dress party on Saturday evening with local music acts.

The South Dorset Rugby Festival Weekend offers so much more than just rugby, in fact, you’ll compete in a 1-day tournament and on the day you’re not competing, everyone can enjoy a full day of fun-filled activities which are all included in your package. There’s something to suit everyone with a wide-choice of land-based activities ranging from a trapeze and zip wire to abseiling and archery, all lead by experienced instructors.

Evenings made for entertainment
As the days rugby and activities draw to a close, the party starts at Osmington Bay, so pack your best fancy dress outfit and join the fun as we put on an evening of entertainment including local music acts.
Accommodation
PGL Osmington Bay offers multi-bedded, twin and single rooms in the newly built accommodation block at the heart of the centre – all of which are en suite and bed linen is provided! Multi-bedded rooms consist of bunk beds and are perfect for children to share.
All meals included
Our packages are all full-board, meaning your meals are all provided when you’re on-site. The centre’s catering team provide a diverse and nutritious range of hot and cold options in the buffet style dining room including a daily soup choice and unlimited access to the fresh fruit and salad bar. If you or one of your group has dietary requirements just make our team aware when booking and they’ll do the rest.
Drinks are covered too, with water, squash, tea and coffee available with all meals. There are also water fountains available around the site to keep hydrated throughout the day.
What to Expect
Friday:
You’ll check-in and leave your luggage in your rooms and explore the venue. Then it’s an evening meal in the communal dining room and a chance to get stuck-in to evening activities.
Saturday & Sunday:
Ignite your engines it’s tournament time! Age categories will be allocated either Saturday or Sunday to play in their tournament, with the other day free to enjoy an extensive choice of exciting, energetic activities around the site.
On Saturday night all guests are invited to join the fancy-dress party where local live music acts will help us celebrate a fantastic weekend away!
All teams that are staying at PGL will be invited to celebrate at the awards ceremony which will take place back at the PGL site on the Sunday after all the age groups have finished. A Celebrity sporting guest will be in attendance, co camera at the ready.
Any offsite teams will collect their medals/trophies once their age group has finished all games on either the Saturday or Sunday at the tournament Venue.
Monday:
Your last meal is breakfast then it’s time to get back on the road to home to tell everyone about your unforgettable rugby festival.

What’s included in your package
Accommodation
Accommodation ranges from single, twin and multi bunk-bed rooms which all come with an en-suite and where all bedding is included.
Full board
On a full-board basis you’ll be catered for from Friday evening through to Monday morning whilst on site at Osmington Bay. Meals are buffet-style with vegetarian options available and special diets catered for when given 2 weeks prior notice. Looking for an alcoholic drink? Then you can pick that up in the bar afterwards.
Access to facilities
If available, you can use the facilities on site.
Awards ceremony
Medals for runners-ups, winners and all your participating players that have brought our accommodation package will be awarded by sporting stars in a feel-good end of tournament ceremony on Sunday.

1 full day of activities
All activities are included and will work on a ‘queue & do’ system. On the day you don’t play in your tournament, you’ll queue for the activities you want and get access to special equipment and activity instruction. Please note, no water-based activities will be available throughout the tour weekend.

All tournaments are sanctioned by the RFU and played in line with RFU Age Grade Regulations.
